Commission for a Cause 2024
Each year, we donate 100% of all brokerage generated on our “Commission for a Cause” day to worthy local charities.
The annual Commission for a Cause has now raised $1.57M for local charities over 5 years. The June 2023 Commission for a Cause raised $300,000 for the Perth Children’s Hospital, Lifeline WA, WA Cricket Foundation and Women & Infants Research Foundation.
“I would like to thank our clients and staff for their continued support for this very important event. It is only through our clients and staff working together that we were able to achieve last year’s fantastic result which will directly benefit those in need within our community. Once again the result shows what can be achieved when we come together and work as a team and I hope it inspires other organisations to look at how they can make a positive impact on their local community.”
– Euroz Hartleys Foundation Executive Chairman, Mr Andrew McKenzie
Breast Cancer Care WA
In Western Australia, 5 women receive a breast cancer diagnosis daily. Breast Cancer Care WA is dedicated to lessening the burden of cancer on their journey from diagnosis through treatment and beyond. The proceeds raised will provide essential services to over 1,700 individuals and families annually, including specialised breast care nursing, mental health aid, education, financial support, and practical assistance – all at no cost.
In 2023, Breast Cancer Care WA experienced the highest demand that they have seen in the organisation’s history: 18% higher than in 2022. Many (65%) of Breast Cancer Care WA clients are referred by health professionals, demonstrating the critical need for their services to reduce the burden on treatment centres. From strategies to cope with the initial shock of a breast cancer diagnosis to help making informed decisions about their treatment, Breast Cancer Care WA’s team of breast care nurses and professional counsellors ensure that clients are able to live as well as possible with, and after, cancer.
Ocean Heroes
With the support of funds raised, Ocean Heroes plans to acquire another vehicle to expand their free events program throughout Western Australia. This expansion will create numerous opportunities for neurodivergent and autistic children to experience the ocean in a safe, nurturing, and inclusive environment for years to come.
Since 2016, Ocean Heroes has introduced over eight thousand members of the autism community across Australia to the excitement and joy of surfing. Their aim is to empower them, fostering self-confidence within a safe, supportive, and enjoyable setting. Australia’s stunning beaches are among its greatest treasures, and Ocean Heroes are dedicated to ensuring that everyone, regardless of ability, can enjoy them fully.
Autism presents unique challenges that can hinder self-confidence and interpersonal connections. Learning to surf provides a dynamic, healthy, and enjoyable avenue for individuals on the autism spectrum to enhance their confidence, elevate self-esteem, and forge meaningful connections with others.
Perth’s Children’s Hospital Foundation
The funds raised will be allocated towards acquiring innovative technology and equipment aimed at swiftly enhancing the lives of sick children in WA. Among these investments is a state-of-the-art simulation training manikin, set to significantly elevate patient care standards and uphold excellence within the Emergency Department at Perth Children’s Hospital. Immersive simulation training via the simulation training manikin enables doctors and nurses to learn, practice and maintain assessments, diagnoses, interventions and other critical skills required for paediatric emergencies.
Additionally, PCHF will be procuring life-changing, tailored equipment for Kids Rehab WA, furthering its mission to empower children with disabilities and enhance their quality of life. Kids Rehab WA offers life-changing support for these children, providing specialised equipment to those who would otherwise go without because of financial and social disadvantage.
