Cold Water Classic 2020
The COLD WATER CLASSIC concept was created to honour the work of the Leukaemia Foundation as well as to raise awareness and much needed funds for cancer research. Euroz Hartleys has been a proud sponser of this event since the first North Cottesloe Cold Water Classic was held on 4 October 2014.
The event started as a 1600m open water swim event along the beautiful and scenic stretch of water from North Cottesloe to Cottesloe. Despite the fresh October water, the event was a resounding success. The close-bonded community feel of the event, and the knowledge that just by swimming you are contributing to a great cause, make the North Cottesloe Cold Water Classic an event that everyone wants to be part of.
Since then, the North Cottesloe Cold Water Classic has become a fixture on the open water swimming calendar. Hold in October each year, it is one of the first open water swimming events of the season. Despite the cold water, the swim generally gives the community a sense that Summer is just around the corner.
In 2017, the North Cottesloe Cold Water Classic added malibu board and stand up paddle board races and a beach run to its program.
The Cold Water Classic has raised over $100,000 for the Leukaemia Foundation since it began in 2014.
